Bluetooth Wireless Technology

Bluetooth wireless is a short-range communications technology intended to replace cables that connect devices. The Bluetooth specification defines a uniform platform for a wide range of devices to connect and communicate with each other. More information can be obtained from www.bluetooth.com

Bluetooth has been embraced by the public and is widely used in the transfer of music, text and pictures between devices and a recent study found that over 70% of mobile phones in Europe now have Bluetooth fitted as standard.

Mobile Phone ownership is now reaching 80% in the UK, which gives you a wonderful opportunity to interact with your target audience on a large scale through the use of Bluetooth. This interaction works independently of the mobile phone network, is completely free to the end-user and has no incremental cost to the operator.

How do Jibajaba Bluetooth Systems work?

The basic operation of Jibajaba Systems is very simple; it is the utilisation of these systems in varied application areas that is diverse.

The basic operation is as follows:

1. The content is pre-loaded onto the Bluetooth System, which is then set up at the chosen location and switched on. It starts transmitting almost immediately.
2. Ideally there will be a poster or some form of notice requesting that the intended recipients enable Bluetooth on their mobile phone.
3. The client receives a message that "an organisation" wishes to send them some information. The name of "the organisation" is programmed into the system to suit the application.
4. The recipient decides 'yes' or 'no' and replies.
5. If yes, the content is sent once, immediately.
6. The client receives the message, which appears in their Inbox. It can be read immediately and saved later.
7. The client is not "spammed." Once any client has said 'yes' or 'no' to any particular message, they will not be asked again.

Definitions:

Content - usually a small Jpeg or Gif file, which can have multiple pages and can be animated. It can also incorporate sound.
